The Zookeeper`s Wife Villa,Warsaw Zoo, Poland 2018
Situated inside Warsaw Zoo,this villa was the home of Jan Zabinski,a very well known zoologist and zoo technician who co founded Warsaw Zoo before the outbreak of WW2.During the Nazi occupation,the zoo was closed to the public,however Jan and his wife Antonina were allowed to work at the zoo to raise animals to feed the German troops that occupied Warsaw but after the creation of the Ghettos,they decided to help Jews escape the ghetto and were given shelter in the basement of the villa.Today,the villa is now a museum that opens the first Sunday of every month but viewable only by prearranged tour .The Villa was named The House under the Crazy Star by the Jewish folk who took shelter there and were smuggled out of Warsaw.
