Doeflex Vinyl have been here on the Hawksworth Estate since at least 1980,as an old friend of mine started work here in 1981.I remember him telling me how this factory used to recycle old vinyl LP and Singles records,but I lost contact with him just after so have little info on how things progressed.The company was bought by a firm called Ineos Compounds and then set about relocating all it`s processes to their main factory in Newton Aycliffe in County Durham with the loss of around 100 jobs in Swindon..the Swindon workers were given the option of transferring,but it`s a big ask of anyone to simply upsticks and move 210 miles away!!
