Barnes Cemetery, also known as Barnes Old Cemetery, is a disused cemetery in Barnes, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is located off Rocks Lane on Barnes Common.I understand the last interment here was in 1954...

On a fabulous September Saturday in 23c,we follow the maps app on my phone which take us through Barnes Common..
We think we are at our rendezvous when I notice a couple of grave stones..
So I take a look around before our guide turns up.
These paths have only recently been cleared so the public can see more of this forgotten cemetery.

Barnes Common in the distance...many walkers and runners pass this burial ground daily and dont even know its here.
Edward Williams,landscape painter along with his family.
Edward Williams (1781 – 24 June 1855) was an English landscape painter during the Victorian era. He had six sons, who were well-known landscape painters as well. Williams is considered the patriarch of the Williams family of painters, which is also referred to as the Barnes School.
The Hedgman family vault where son William was first interred after his death aged only 27.
To our left is Edward Williams family graves.
Nearly all the statues heads have been knocked off by moronic vandals
No doubt this person had considerable connections to the sea.
Dr Samuel Rabeth,a young Doctor who contracted Diptheria from a little girl he treated and saved albeit for only a short while.
